2 – New Fast Mount functionality enables instant access to the content. No more waiting!

It can take up to a minute to mount media from an external NTFS volume. Paragon Software provides a new Fast Mount feature to retrieve background file systems while the operating system proceeds with other tasks. The software also checks file system integrity to ensure the mounted volume is clean and consistent.

3 – Strong journaling capabilities: safely complete uncompleted transactions even after unsafe media removal

Imagine the following scenario: Unplug your SD card or USB Flash from the desktop PC without having to take further actions – like clicking on the “safely remove” tray app. Some non-completed file system operations can damage data. Games Workshop, the leading designer and manufacturer of fantasy miniatures, selected Paragon Software Group’s Paragon Alignment Tool (PAT) to boost server and workstation performance due to misaligned partitions.

Games Workshop employs both a modern VMware virtual server environment running Windows 2008 Datacenter and a legacy physical server environment running older Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 operating systems. “We had a number of older servers that we migrated into our virtual environment and noticed that we did not get the performance that we expected,” said Jon Howell, North America IT Director for Games Workshop. “A little research revealed that since they were older OS versions, the partitions were not aligned correctly. The Paragon alignment tool cleaned things up nicely and increased the performance.”

In the recently issued IHS iSuppli report “Hard Disk Drive Pricing: Will it Reach Pre-Flood Level in the Near Future?”, prices for hard disk drives are expected to remain above pre-flood levels through 2014. Buffalo Inc. selected Paragon Software’s exFAT and NTFS for Android drivers for embedding into Buffalo’s next generation of Smart Box product lines. Paragon’s NTFS for Android driver allows consumers to attach their NTFS (Windows®) formatted USB Key or Hard Drive to the Smart Box and now with Paragon’s exFAT for Android driver also included, consumers can get the full utility of the new high capacity exFAT-formatted SDXC cards in the Smart Box.

First technology available to OEMs with “safe removal” and “new standby” options allowing in just a few seconds to secure data and utilize NTFS, HFS+ or exFAT file systems on Android, Linux and other open-source Smart TV devices

As consumer electronic devices advance by adopting operating systems like Android, so does the expectation of seamless interoperability with PC, Mac and other consumer electronics. Smart TV, for example, when utilizing external storage devices like removable drives or SD cards, is expected to perform better than accepted models of Windows or Linux desktop computers, not waiting too long for external media to be recognized and mounted, and not leaving external media in an inconsistent state.

Advanced devices like Smart TV are expected to recognize external media regardless of its origination — either Windows, Mac, camcorder or other media player — and to perform at full speed, allowing recording and playback for Full HD and 3D video content from external media sources.
