Paragon’s drivers and Corsair’s Voyager Air Unveiled at CES 2013
Corsair’s newly released Voyager Air, a portable, wireless drive, is embedded with Paragon’s universal file system driver (UFSD) technology. Paragon’s drivers enable cross-platform read/write access to various file systems connected to the Voyager Air. Corsair’s drive was announced at their launch event at CES 2013.
Paragon’s cross-platform driver technology makes the Voyager Air compatible with all devices and PCs, regardless of the operating system. The portable Voyager Air is the first all-in-one mobile, wireless, home network drive. It can be used as a home NAS via its Gigabit connection or as a portable hard drive (USB 3.0) or a wireless hub (Wi-Fi). Significant booting challenges on EFI systems when upgrading to Windows 8

The new Windows 8 and Server 2012 will be the base operating systems for upcoming new computers, laptops and servers. UEFI is the recommended platform for all of them. In spite of all of its advantages, many users are still not familiar with UEFI. There are known issues which may arise when you decide to manage EFI boot options or migrate to an EFI-based computer from another one. In most of these cases, your OS will simply not boot.
Paragon Software’s Hard Disk Manager saves critical IT resources at Boise State University
Boise State University’s TRiO Educational Talent Search and TRiO Upward Bound Programs selected Paragon’s Hard Disk Manager (HDM) to save time and resources to deploy and/or reimage desktop systems.
Boise State University’s TRiO Educational Talent Search (ETS) and Upward Bound programs provide outreach and assistance to first-generation college bound and low-income students. The programs maintain ten to twelve off-site classrooms with three to five computers each, requiring regular reimaging.
After researching a software options, Corey Simpson, IT coordinator for Boise State University’s ETS and Upward Bound program, scheduled a demonstration of Paragon’s HDM.
“We needed to decrease the amount of time we were spending on reimaging machines,” said Simpson. “One of the features I looked for in a solution was the ability to process multiple restores on the network — Paragon was the only vendor offering the features I needed as well as disk partition and other disk management tools.”

The Storage Spaces feature of Windows 8 is an important step to easy implementation of thin provisioning or storage resiliency, helping users to use existing hard drives and to combine them for saving videos or other large files.
